Peruvian Jiujitsu Coach Terminated

Houston, Texas Feb 11, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Houston Jiu-jitsu Gym Terminates Head Professor for Misconduct
Over the past few weeks, multiple victims have been speaking out about abuse, assault, and misconduct ocurring at American Jiu-jitsu gyms.
One Houston area gym also had to take action against a promising professor from Lima, Peru after it was discovered he was having inappropriate relations with a female student, despite having his long term partner work along side him at the gym.
Gym leadership announced they had to make the difficult decision to terminate his employment and withdraw his visa sponsorship, making a significant change to leadership within the academy.
In reflecting on this moment, they said that they recognize that technical skill and rank are not to be valued over character and integrity.
In jiu-jitsu, a black belt must represent more than physical ability. It must represent values, responsibility, and how others are treated.
Unfortunatly, in this sport, promotions occur under this type of leadership. This effects students long-term as belt promotions have lineage associated with them, tying the student to the abusive leader for life.
Owners need to do better to protect staff and students. They can be clear and straightforward with these standards:
